Permabond TA436 is a toughened-acrylic structural adhesive (adhesive only) — for use with separate Permabond Initiator (typically Init. 41).
TA436 is supplied as a bare adhesive container; the required initiator (Permabond Initiator 41) must be obtained separately. This procurement method is advantageous if a central initiator stock is used.
Standard MMA structural adhesive TA436 (adhesive only) — the initiator is applied separately (typically Permabond Initiator 41). For users who purchase the initiator and adhesive separately.

Frequently asked questions about Permabond TA436
Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.
Toughened Acrylic Adhesive TA436 — Standard MMA structural adhesive, initiator sold separately.
MMA structural adhesives of the TA series typically work in a no-mix process: apply initiator to one surface, adhesive to the other — when joining, the initiator activates the adhesive. Mixing ratio: —. Handling strength after 2–10 minutes, final strength after 24 hours at 23 °C.
MMA structural adhesives (methyl methacrylate) offer higher impact and peel strength than classic 2K epoxies — important for dynamically loaded bonds. The no-mix processing with a separate initiator eliminates the pot life limitation. Cure time is typically faster (minutes instead of hours).
Permabond TA436 bonds reliably: Steel: 15–25 N/mm². Substrate failure is common with polycarbonate and PVC (bond stronger than material).
Permabond TA436 does not have specific aerospace approvals like TA4246 (Boeing/Airbus). For industrial applications without aerospace requirements, the product is approved according to Permabond standards.
Permabond TA436 is toughened acrylic adhesive, sold individually (mixed). Permabond TA435 + Init. 41 is a complete package (with initiator).
From the Permabond MMA range: Permabond TA436 (Toughened Acrylic – adhesive sold individually); Permabond TA435 + Init. 41 (Complete package); Permabond TA437 + Init. 41 (Rapid package); Permabond TA439 (MMA 10:1). For aerospace premium, see TA4246 (Boeing and Airbus approved). For highest industrial strength without an aerospace surcharge, see TA452.
