Product Description

SILISIL Silicone Oil 0.65 cSt is a highly volatile silicone fluid (hexamethyldisiloxane) — evaporates without residue for cosmetics, release agent applications and solvent function.

SILISIL Silicone Oils are high-purity linear polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) liquids with a purity of 100%. Their viscosity of 0.65 cSt defines their range of applications—from lubrication and release agents to hydraulic functions and specialized care and industrial applications.

Evaporates without leaving any residue

0.65 cSt is the lowest available PDMS viscosity—a short-chain hexamethyldisiloxane that evaporates quickly and completely after application. It is the standard choice as a volatile carrier in cosmetics, antiperspirants, and release agents.

What distinguishes SILISIL Silicone Oil 0.65 cSt

Residue-free evaporation
Evaporates quickly without leaving adhesive residue — ideal as a volatile carrier in cosmetics and antiperspirants.
Lowest PDMS viscosity
Short-chain hexamethyldisiloxane — the lowest practically manageable silicone oil viscosity.
Solvent properties
Dissolves other silicones and supports processing as a reactive-inert carrier.
Very low surface tension
Spreads on substrates with minimal wetting — ideal as a release agent for microstructures.
Chemically inert
Does not react with most materials — safe in multi-component formulations.
Odorless and tasteless
Suitable for applications involving skin contact and sensory requirements.

What is SILISIL Silicone Oil 0.65 cSt used for?

Cosmetics & Antiperspirants
Volatile carrier in deodorant sprays, lotions and make-up — provides a silky skin feel without residue.
Fast-evaporating release agents
Sprayed on and evaporates — no cleaning required, no residue left on the workpiece.
Volatile silicone solvent
Carrier medium for other silicones and active ingredients in the formulation industry.
Dry lubrication
It smears when applied, evaporates, and leaves a very thin layer of silicone.
Cleaning industry
Special cleaner for sensitive surfaces and electronic components.
Air-Drying Surface Treatment
Surface conditioning with self-evaporation — no waiting time, no wiping.
Data Sheets & Safety Data Sheet

Important Notes

Storage & Handling
Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place (ideally <60 °C). Avoid eye contact. Consult the SDS before opening.
Solvent compatibility
Soluble in aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated solvents. Not miscible with water and alcohols.
Release agent effect before painting
Standard PDMS prevents paint adhesion on subsequent coatings. For paintable applications, choose SILISIL Silicone Oil – Paintable Grade.

Frequently asked questions about SILISIL Silicone Oil 0.65 cSt

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

SILISIL Silicone Oil 0.65 cSt: Highly volatile silicone fluid (hexamethyldisiloxane) — evaporates without residue for cosmetics, release agent applications, and solvent function. Main applications include cosmetics & antiperspirants, fast-evaporating release agents, and volatile silicone solvents.

PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) is a linear silicone fluid that combines high thermal stability, low surface tension, very good dielectric properties, and broad temperature resistance. The viscosity (measured in centistokes, cSt) determines the field of application — low viscosities are suitable for volatile applications and lubrication, high viscosities for damping and conditioners.

SILISIL Silicone Oils are soluble in aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated solvents (e.g., toluene, xylene, hexane, diesel). They are not miscible with water and alcohols. For anti-foam applications, high-viscosity PDMS is diluted in hydrocarbon solvents and introduced using a dosing pump.

Store in the unopened original container at room temperature (ideally below 60 °C). Avoid eye contact. SILISIL Silicone Oils are generally non-toxic, odorless, and tasteless — nevertheless, consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), which is available in the "Documents" tab.

Viscosity determines the application. 0.65 cSt is optimal for cosmetics, antiperspirants, and similar applications. For other application characteristics, you will find related viscosities in the comparison table above—if you are unsure, we will be happy to advise you on your specific application.
