SILISIL RTV MD-Podo 15 is a room temperature vulcanizing 2-component silicone of the MD — Medical (Dental, Podiatry, Skin Contact)series (Addition (Platinum), RTV-2) — fast-setting silicone Shore A 13 for the podiatry and orthopedic workshop.

The mixture is prepared in a 1:1 ratio by weight . Pot life at 23 °C is approximately 1 minute, demolding after approximately 3 minutes, and complete curing after 24 hours. Temperature resistant from -40 °C to +200 °C.

Processing

Prepare the original
Clean, dry, and dust-free surface at 23 °C — cooler environments significantly extend pot life and curing time.

Mix components
Stir base and catalyst thoroughly before use. Weigh out 1:1 by weight. Mix in thoroughly, including container walls and bottom.

Vacuum degassing
Briefly degas under vacuum for a pore-free mold — entrapped air is removed and a smooth mold surface is guaranteed.

Processing
Pour in a thin stream from approx. 30 cm height — minimal air entrapment.

Vulcanize and demold
At 23 °C, demolding is possible after approximately 3 minutes; complete hardening occurs after 24 hours.

Important Notes

Avoid crosslinking inhibitors
Addition system (platinum) — sensitive to sulfur, amine, tin, and phosphorus compounds. Avoid contact with latex gloves and PVC plasticizers.
Storage and Shelf Life
Shelf life of at least 12 months in unopened original container when stored in a dry, cool place (10–25 °C). Consult the SDS before opening.

Compatibility
Compatible with polyurethane, epoxy, and polyester casting resins. For aggressive resins, apply a release agent.

SILISIL RTV MD-Podo 15 is mixed in a 1:1 ratio by weight (base to catalyst). Homogenize both components separately before mixing, then thoroughly incorporate them – including the container walls and bottom.

SILISIL RTV MD-Podo 15 achieves a Shore A hardness of 13 (ASTM D 2240), a tensile strength of (see TDS) N/mm² (ASTM D 412), an elongation at break of approx. (see TDS) % and a tensile strength of (see TDS) N/mm (ASTM D 624).
