G&P Wax Release Spray is a fast-drying, silicone-free and CFC-free wax release spray — temperature resistant up to +90 °C, suitable for processing polyester, epoxy, PMMA, polyurethane and silicone rubber.

Release sprays for composite and reaction casting applications — wax- and silicone-based spray release agents for the clean demolding of polyester, epoxy, and polyurethane resins in model making, boatbuilding, automotive bodywork, and industrial applications. G&P Wax Release Spray is tailored to specific industrial and workshop applications — the most important properties and areas of application are listed below.

Silicone-free + quick-drying for composites

G&P Wax Release Spray is a silicone-free and CFC-free wax release spray — fast-drying, milky-white with a density of 1.25 and a flash point of +34 °C. It is an aerosol with a propane/butane propellant. Suitable for processing polyester, epoxy, polymethacrylate, polyurethane, and silicone rubber. Temperature resistant up to +90 °C.

processing

1
Prepare the form
The mold must be clean, grease-free, and silicone-free. Pre-seal absorbent surfaces. For new molds, multiple applications of wax are recommended to close micropores.
2
Acclimate the release agent
Bring the aerosol can to room temperature (approx. 20 °C) before use — spraying it cold will result in uneven layers.
3
Shake the aerosol can
Stir thoroughly before and during use — active ingredients must be homogeneously distributed in the propellant.
4
Spray from a distance of 20–30 cm
Apply slowly and evenly in a thin layer — all areas of the mold must be coated with the release agent.
5
Allow to air dry for 10–60 minutes
Drying time varies depending on the product — solvents must evaporate completely. For wax release sprays, optionally polish with a soft cotton cloth (caution — friction generates heat; the release film should not be polished away).
6
Re-spray as needed
Repeat the process if the release agent effect diminishes. A film of release agent will build up in the mold with repeated use — periodic cleaning with release agent remover is necessary.

Frequently asked questions about G&P wax release spray

Practical questions regarding application and compatibility — answered by SILITECH.

G&P Wax Release Spray: Fast-drying, silicone-free and CFC-free wax release spray — temperature resistant up to +90 °C, suitable for processing polyester, epoxy, PMMA, polyurethane, and silicone rubber. Main applications: aircraft and glider construction, boat building, bodywork, and paneling.

For polyester (UP) and epoxy resin (EP), wax-based sprays are standard (Neukadur P6, G&P wax release spray, TRS release spray) — silicone-free, they allow the component to be painted/bonded. For difficult polyurethane demolding with high requirements or multiple cycles, the silicone-containing ACHEM SG-1001S offers the highest release resistance. For each application: apply a thin, even coat, allow to flash off — often several coats of wax are necessary before the first casting with new molds.

No. Silicone sprays leave a water-repellent silicone film that prevents paints, adhesives, and coatings from adhering. Do not use on surfaces that will later be painted or covered with adhesive film—or clean thoroughly beforehand with SILISIL Silicone Remover.

Store the aerosol can below +50 °C, protect from direct sunlight, and keep away from ignition sources. Do not forcibly open or incinerate pressurized containers, even after use. Shelf life in the unopened original container is according to SDS; please note the printed expiration date.

Polyester/epoxy resin composites: Wax-based sprays — Neukadur P6 (UP/EP special), Wax Release Spray G&P (silicone-free, polishable up to +90 °C), Release Spray TRS (silicone-free up to +120 °C). Polyurethane difficulties: ACHEM SG-1001S with maximum release reserve for multiple demoldings. Food packaging: NSR Food FPS Spray with NSF M1 registration no. 155325. If unsure about material compatibility, always make a small test casting.
