When is gluing the appropriate joining method?
Adhesive bonding enables connections between different materials and can transfer forces across a surface. Whether it is suitable for a component depends on the design, the load, and the manufacturing process.
Plan the connection constructively
The bonding surface and the direction of the load influence the result. A connection designed for screws cannot therefore be automatically replaced by applying an adhesive. Component movement and temperature fluctuations must also be considered.
Consider the assembly process
Cleaning, pretreatment, application, and curing require time and suitable working conditions. Some products set quickly, while others allow more time for alignment. The parts must be held securely until sufficient strength is achieved.
Check the component
We suggest adhesives suitable for your materials and planned process. Subsequent tests on the actual bond will show whether the strength and durability are sufficient for the intended use.
