Permabond A126 is a high-strength anaerobic wicking adhesive for the permanent bonding and sealing of threaded parts and coaxial connections — the ultra-low viscosity allows bonding in tight tolerance fits without disassembly.
With a flow rate of 10–30 mPa·s, A126 is highly mobile and flows through capillary action into micro-gaps down to 0.05 mm — both between internal and external threads and into coaxial fits such as shaft-hub connections or bearing seats. Curing takes place in the absence of air and in contact with the metal.
The universal wicking application makes A126 the first choice for post-assembly bonding of already mounted components — securing vibration-loose screws, fixing loose bearing fits, or making repairs without complete disassembly. The breakaway torque of 14 N·m and the high holding torque of 34 N·m provide a permanently high-strength bond.
Universal wicking adhesive for the permanent bonding and sealing of threaded parts and coaxial connections — the ultra-low viscosity of 10–30 mPa·s allows for the subsequent securing of already assembled components by capillary penetration into micro-gaps.

Frequently asked questions about Permabond A126
Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.
Permabond A126 is a single-component, anaerobic acrylic adhesive with a viscosity of 10–30 mPa·s and a gap-filling capacity of up to 0.05 mm. This high-strength wicking adhesive is suitable for threaded and coaxial connections and flows into micro-gaps via capillary action. Anaerobic adhesives cure in the absence of air and in contact with metal, making them ideal for tight-tolerance metallic joints.
Anaerobic adhesives like Permabond A126 remain liquid in the bottle (due to contact with air and oxygen) and only begin to harden after bonding under anaerobic conditions and metal-to-metal contact. Curing starts at the metal surface and progresses into the bond gap. The product cures quickly on steel and copper; on stainless steel and zinc, the Permabond A905 activator may be beneficial.
Difficult to remove — Permabond A126 is high-strength (14 N·m breakaway torque). Disassembly typically requires heating the bond to 200 °C or more. Designed for permanent bonding.
Permabond A126 does not have specific industry approvals such as WRAS or KTW (drinking water). For general industrial applications, the product is approved according to Permabond's internal specifications; however, product-specific testing prior to series production is recommended.
Permabond A126 typically achieves handling strength after 15 minutes and functional strength after 1 hour at 23 °C on M10 steel. Final strength is reached after 24 hours. On inactive surfaces (stainless steel, zinc) or at low temperatures, the curing time is extended—Permabond A905 activator accelerates the process.
Permabond A126 is a high-strength wicking adhesive for threads and coaxial joints (10–30 mPa·s viscosity, 0.05 mm gap filling, 14 N·m breakaway torque). Permabond A113 is a medium-strength threadlocker (500 mPa·s, 0.12 mm gap filling, 12 N·m breakaway torque) — apply before assembly. Both belong to the anaerobic Permabond A series.
The choice depends on the application: Permabond A126 (high-strength wicking adhesive for threads and coaxial connections); Permabond A113 (medium threadlocker); Permabond A1062 (wicking + UV shaft-hub); Permabond HM162 (wicking shaft-hub). For inactive surfaces (stainless steel, zinc, aluminum) Permabond A905 activator be used to accelerate curing.
