Permabond LH050 is a low-strength anaerobic thread sealant in paste form — designed for pressure-tight sealing of pipe threads up to M56, which must remain removable at all times for service and inspection purposes.
With a paste consistency of 250,000 mPa·s, LH050 does not drip, remains precisely in place, and fills gaps up to 0.5 mm. Its methacrylate chemistry distinguishes it from classic acrylic anaerobic wipes of the A-series.
The low torque of 4 N·m breakaway and 3 N·m further tightening makes the LH050 the ideal choice for maintenance and service fittings — the connection seals reliably but can be loosened at any time without tools or with minimal tool use. The range up to M56 also covers large industrial pipe threads.
Low-strength, methacrylate-based thread sealant paste — seals pipe threads up to M56 pressure-tight and remains removable with standard tools. Ideal for service fittings, inspection connections, and similar maintenance applications.

Frequently asked questions about Permabond LH050
Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.
Permabond LH050 is an anaerobic methacrylate ester with a viscosity of 250,000 mPa·s (paste) and gap filling capability up to 0.5 mm. This low-strength thread sealant paste provides tool-removable sealing for large pipe threads up to M56. Anaerobic adhesives cure in the absence of air and in contact with metal—ideal for tight-tolerance metallic joints.
Anaerobic adhesives like Permabond LH050 remain liquid in the bottle (due to contact with air and oxygen) and only begin to harden after bonding under anaerobic conditions and metal-to-metal contact. Curing starts at the metal surface and progresses into the bond gap. The product cures quickly on steel and copper; on stainless steel and zinc, the Permabond A905 activator may be beneficial.
Yes — Permabond LH050 is a low-strength threadlocker (4 N·m breakaway torque) and can be loosened at any time with standard tools without heating. Designed for maintenance and service.
Permabond LH050 does not have specific industry approvals such as WRAS or KTW (drinking water). For general industrial applications, the product is approved according to Permabond's internal specifications; however, product-specific testing prior to series production is recommended.
Permabond LH050 typically reaches handling strength after 15 minutes and functional strength after 1 hour at 23 °C on M10 steel. Final strength is reached after 24 hours. On inactive surfaces (stainless steel, zinc) or at low temperatures, the curing time is extended—Permabond A905 activator accelerates the process.
Permabond LH050 is a low-strength thread sealant (paste) (250,000 mPa·s (paste) viscosity, 0.5 mm gap filling, 4 N·m breakaway torque). Permabond A129 is a medium-strength gel (gel, 0.5 mm, 12 N·m breakaway torque) — Medium-strength A series. Both belong to the anaerobic Permabond A series.
The choice depends on the application: Permabond LH050 (low-strength thread sealant (paste)); Permabond A129 (medium-strength gel); Permabond A1044 (fast-curing); Permabond MH052 (threadlocker + sealant). For inactive surfaces (stainless steel, zinc, aluminum), Permabond A905 activator be used to accelerate curing.
