Epoxy adhesives. 1K and 2K systems for structural bonding

Epoxy adhesives are the first choice for many high-strength, structural bonding applications. They adhere reliably to metal, many plastics, ceramics, and composite materials, and, depending on the formulation, offer good resistance to chemicals, moisture, and temperature.

One-component epoxy adhesives (1K)

One-component epoxy adhesives cure through the application of heat (typically 120 to 180 °C) and achieve very high strengths. Suitable for automated processes with controlled oven curing. Typical applications: engine manufacturing, electronics production, magnet bonding.

Two-component epoxy adhesives (2K)

Two-component (2K) systems cure at room temperature after mixing , ranging from fast-curing (approximately 5 minutes pot life) to slow-curing (90 minutes) for large bonding surfaces. The mixing ratio and pot life determine the application. Permabond offers over 120 formulations for specific requirements: highly flexible, high-temperature resistant (product-specific up to 250 °C according to the manufacturer's documentation), thermally conductive, or transparent.

Structural bonding in aerospace, automotive, electronics manufacturing, medical technology, and mechanical engineering. When properly designed, epoxy adhesives can replace mechanical connections such as welding, riveting, or screwing; we will review the design together using the data sheets and recommend tests on the original component.
